Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Convert with Convertly (formerly “Document Converter”), an Android app for converting, scanning and editing documents, provided by KH Apps Collection (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Using the app

• The app is free. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on Android devices you own or control, for lawful purposes.
• You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it.
• If you use the app for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. Your files

You keep all rights to the documents and images you open, scan or create. They are processed on your phone and are not uploaded to us (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your files, for having the right to copy, convert, edit, sign or share them, and for keeping your own backups. Deleting a file in the app or uninstalling the app removes it permanently, and we cannot recover it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

• break the law, or infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
• forge, alter or misrepresent documents, signatures, identity documents or official records, or remove passwords from PDFs you are not allowed to open;
• reverse engineer, modify or resell the app, or interfere with the services it connects to.

4. What the tools do and do not do

• Conversion. Converting between formats keeps the text but may lose formatting, tables, images and layout. Check important results before you rely on them.
• Text recognition (OCR) and tables. Recognised text and rebuilt table columns are estimates and can contain mistakes.
• Signatures. Sign PDF places a visible image of your signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and may not meet legal requirements for electronic signatures where you live.
• Whiteout. Whiteout only covers content visually. The text underneath remains in the file, so do not use it to remove sensitive information.
• Protect PDF. If you forget the password you set, we cannot recover the file.
• ID photos. We do not guarantee that a photo will be accepted by any authority. Check the official requirements before you use it.
• Footer. PDFs created by the app get a small “Created with Convertly” footer by default. You can turn it off in Settings → Exports.

5. Cloud storage and third-party services

Connecting Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive is optional and gives the app read-only access to your files there. Your use of those services, and of Google Play services, which provides the scanner and text recognition, is also governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for their handling of your data.

6. Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features, and may stop offering the app. We may also update these terms; when we do, we will change the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

7. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of conversions or OCR, or freedom from errors, to the extent the law allows.

8. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or damaged files arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, which for a free app is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which KH Apps Collection is established, and courts there can hear disputes, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
